Short Story: Hire Ruki, chat with him once, and then relax knowing he will create exactly the wedding you hope for. Working with him was an unbelievable experience; he was unlike any other wedding DJ. In fact, I wouldn’t describe him as a wedding DJ, but rather a top-notch club DJ whose sampling and mixing skills far exceed the wedding industry standard. Long Story: In terms of crafting the kind of ambiance and experience that you dream of for your wedding day, a DJ is second only to the venue, (perhaps even more important than the venue). When selecting the vendors for our Sept 2013 wedding, my now-husband and I had only online review sites like yelp/theknot/weddingwire to make our decisions since we were planning the event from the East Coast. Needless to say, we were more than a little concerned that we had made the right selections. Initially, we had booked a different DJ company, but decided to switch to Ruki at Dream House Productions after we realized that we were uncomfortable with the idea of working with a DJ company rather than an individual. These fears were compounded after we attended my brother’s wedding earlier this year when the DJ that arrived managed to botch almost everything they had so carefully planned for. Admittedly, I had a few miscommunications with Ruki in the days leading up to the wedding day and I was put on edge a few time, but I will say that every time I finally got in touch with Ruki on the phone, he put me at ease. I was reassured that he was a professional who would be capable of managing the situation on the day-of. What I didn’t realize was that on our wedding night, Ruki would blow it out of the water! Ruki was PHENOMENAL. From the moment he showed up until the very last second, he understood exactly what we wanted and executed it with the highest degree of precision. He knew that because we were having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in the same location, that we would need to rely on the music to create the right kind of magic for each moment, and he was the most talented DJ I have ever encountered. When the dance floor opened, he kept it PACKED until the absolute last song, with everyone from the very young to the very old finding a moment or a reason to get out and shimmy. Unlike traditional wedding DJs, Ruki is a true club DJ who adeptly samples different songs, blends them seamlessly, and really keeps up the party spirits. He has an uncanny ability to read the crowd and deliver what it wants (in our case, a mix of Motown, 80s, and contemporary dance). Now that I have the benefit of some hindsight and a few nights of sleep, I realize that what a bride and groom really need in a vendor is someone who understands what you want and will execute it with minimal direction and interference. In this regard, Ruki stood out among all of the vendors we worked with,and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again for any wedding or occasion.

Ruki was absolutely amazing, we used him for our wedding about 2 weeks ago. Our guests cannot stop complimenting us on the DJ with the great mix of music, people were constantly dancing and having a great time! He is extremely professional but at the same time we completely trusted him that he will run the night with the music. After our mariachi band left, Ruki was able to start right back up flawlessly and continue on with dinner music. We wanted a big dance party and we definitely got it, thanks to Ruki! We hired Ruki to DJ our wedding in New York City in 2013. Before the wedding, he did a great job of making sure he knew exactly what we wanted him to do, and he followed through on everything perfectly. He knows exactly how to work a crowd, and played the perfect setlist. At one point, our flower girl froze up at the beginning of a dance she was performing. He noticed what was happening, stopped the music, and apologized for “his mistake” (he did nothing wrong, he just wanted to take the pressure off of her so she could get through her performance). He gave her a moment to gather herself, and then kicked it off again – I can’t believe how perceptive he was! He also did a great job of making sure we were happy with everything the entire night while keeping us on schedule. I would absolutely hire him again for any future events. We chose Ruki for our recent wedding at the W Chicago Lakeshore Hotel on the recommendation of a friend. Not only were we pleased, but Ruki’s professionalism and performance exceeded our expectations in every way. He coordinated with our vendors, kept us updated on the timing of events throughout our reception and met with us in person twice prior to the event at our request to make sure every detail was perfect. The reception itself was a blast because Ruki knows how to read the room and play the kind of music your guests want to hear. We literally had more than 20 wedding guests personally tell us he was the best DJ they had ever danced to at a wedding or any other event for that matter, and two hotel banquet employees requested his information to book him for their own weddings. Just when you’re ready to take a break and walk off the dance floor, Ruki draws you back in. You cannot go wrong with Ruki Dole, you won’t regret it!

Ruki was fantastic for my wedding 5/11/13. He did a great job staying on top of timing for all the traditions and as we expected handled the crowd’s music expectations well. We had the crowd dancing to the limit every minute he was out there…I would HIGHLY recommend bringing in Ruki for your wedding if you want the guests to dance their face off!!!!

Ruki recently worked a corporate outing for me and I was extremely pleased with his work. He was able to pull together a “Name that Tune” event as part of a trivia contest, and on the fly came up with perfect songs to play during the other rounds. He then got everyone on the dance floor with a strong mix of current hits and party standards.

We had our wedding on 9/22/2012 in city of Chicago and Ruki did an excellent job firing up the crowd and keep them dancing all night. Ruki was professional, on time, courteous and efficient. I’d recommend Dream House Production 100% to everyone looking to have a great time.

Ruki (Dream House Production) did an amazing job at our wedding! We live in the Chicago area and had our wedding at Marquette Park Pavilion in Gary, IN in August. We had met with a couple DJ’s before selecting Ruki, and he definitely delivered. Not only did he work through our list of songs we gave him, but he read the crowd and made sure every guest had a great time. The dance floor was filled the whole time, and everyone loved the mix. Also, the thing that impressed us most about Ruki was his organization and professionalism. He kept everything on schedule and on time, and worked with our every request. Ruki has DJed a few corporate events for me and crushed it each time. Whether the event was for customers or internal, each time he has perfectly read the group and gotten rave reviews. Professional and thorough, we will continue to book him in the future for events in Chicago and beyond.

Thanks to Dream House Productions for being so on point and organized at our venue. I wouldnt have changed anything about their work and how fun they made our wedding night for us.
